The pillars of the STEAM class is all based upon the 16 Habits of Minds which are 16 Habits that students need to be autonomous critical and creative thinkers and innovators.  I use the 16 habits of minds as learning outcomes by unpacking each learning outcome and assigning an observable behavior to an learning outcome and assessing student on whether or not they can demonstrate that behavior in a variety of situations.  If you interested in learning about the 16 habits of minds and how you would want to apply them to your classroom go to
